In honor of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, (August 16th, 2025), with humble thoughts and prayers
“Mere tho Giridhar Gopala , Dhusuro na koi” sang saint poetess Meera Bai, “Paga Ghunguroo Bandh Meera Naachi” danced by humble Sri Krishna bhakth Sudha Chandra Sekhr.
Hours, Days, Months, and Years have passed, with these love-lit eyes, still holding the divine vision of Lord Krishna with his beloved Radha. Many, many stories of theirs have been shared with enchanted audiences everywhere she performed.
She finds the divine couple on stage, every time she dances, be it in dance recital halls, or theaters, in temples where she offers heartfelt worship, or in the various centers where she teaches their divine pastimes, to her eager, enthusiastic, beloved daughters, young dedicated students, and devoted adults. She also finds them in the innermost lotus shrine of her heart, from where all creativity in her choreography rises.
So it has happened in the past 80 years of her life, and so it will continue. She began learning Bharatha Natyam when she was around five from her dear Gurus of Sri Rajarajeshwari Bharata Natya Kala Mandir in Mumbai. The dance of life will continue until the divine couple arrives, to receive her, opening the portals of Goloka, where she can dance joyously, with Radharani and other like devotees, in abandon to the celestial melodies of Shree Krishna’s flute. That would be her heaven.
For now, heaven is here. Let us all rejoice as we sing and dance their magnificent glories.
Radhe Krishna!
Radhe Radhe!
Hare Krishna!
